Recently, one such moment was witnessed on the course in New York when the 3-time major champion finally achieved the feat of getting his “dream finish” after competing for many years.

Padraig Harrington, a PGA Tour veteran and legendary Irish golfer, was the defending champion at this year’s Dick’s Sporting Goods Open. It turns out that the defending champion has successfully defended his title, and that too with a lot of honor and pride. This year’s win at En-Joie Golf Course was even more special. You may be wondering what made the special win more special.
Well, his achievement at Endicott helped him achieve his “dream finish” on the course. According to the 51-year-old Irish golfer, he has competed in 500+ tournaments and hasn’t achieved his ideal finish until now! It had always been his dream to win an event with nine holes left to play, and on Sunday he did just that! What an astounding feat for the golfer to achieve!
The three-time major champion accomplished his dream win thanks to his stellar shots on the back nine of the En-Joie Golf Course at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open just hours ago. He shot 5 birdies, 1 eagle, and 3 pars to achieve his dream victory against Joe Durant by one stroke.
I’ve probably played 500 plus tournaments where I’ve tried to stick in there with 9 holes to go for a dream finish. Today was that day. Crazy game. @ChampionsTour @dicksopengolf https://t.co/x5QreiaU5H

Harrington had also emerged victorious at the 2022 Senior US Open Championship, which is fast approaching in 2023 in just a month. Will he be able to put on a similar display of skill and defend his senior major title as well? It certainly will be thrilling to watch.
The Irish golfer undoubtedly has remarkable skills. And with his club in his hand and his humble nature, he is a huge inspiration for many. In fact, he recently even had a win dedicated to him by a fellow Irish LPGA star who claimed that she would never have won had it not been for his help.

Leona Maguire, the LPGA sensation who is also from Ireland, won the Meijer LPGA Classic just days ago. After her victory, she thanked Harrington. The 2-time LPGA winner stated that the PGA Tour pro had taught her some golf shots when they had met and played together before the event, and that helped her win.
But the humble 6-time PGA Tour winner was all class when it came to receiving her praise. Following the gesture, he shared that it was Maguire’s efforts and diligence that helped her win. Reminiscing about his meeting with the LPGA Tour winner, where they played together, he also praised her game and her golfing skills.
