LIV Golf at Jeddah finally came to a close this Sunday, and Brooks Koepka emerged as the winner, taking a total purse of $8 million home. The LIV golfer defended his title by finishing at 14-under 196, tying with Talor Gooch, and eventually winning in a playoff against Gooch.

As this season’s LIV Golf draws to a close, all eyes are on Miami for the highly anticipated Team Championship. The spotlight is on three teams: 4Aces GC, Smash GC, and Fireball GC, each carrying their own tale of victory and determination. However, the air is thick with anticipation, especially for veteran player Phil Mickelson, whose chances to achieve something big this time around are looking bleak.

First, in line, we have the 4Aces GC, the defending champions, who are topping the leaderboard yet again, the second year in a row. Their narrow lead of 192 points over Crushers GC (186 points), Torque GC (183 points), and RangeGoats GC (179 points) has been a clear indication of how the team has been moving forward strategically.

Another big name in this year’s gameplay at Jeddah has been that of Smash GC, who made a name after finishing seventh on the leaderboard. Their captain, Brooks Koepka, has stolen all the spotlight with his remarkable play on the greens this time around. His mastery of the 18th hole is what secured him a thrilling victory against Talor Gooch from RangeGoats GC in a playoff.

Following that, Fireball GC, the second-time winner of the season in Jeddah, has emerged as a force to be reckoned with. Sergio Garcia has led the team this time with a strong 5th-place finish at 12 under. Their team strength, with players Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz shooting 6 under 64s and Eugenio Chacarra and Garcia shooting 3 under 67s, resulted in a final-round counting score of 15 under.

Amidst all this excitement, we have the veteran player Phil Mickelson, who is facing an uphill battle. His performance in Jeddah wasn’t on par, thus leaving him far from his usual form. Gruesomely putting aside his struggles, Mickelson enters the Team Championship with diminished confidence, and so his chances of stealing the spotlight are deemed bleak.

The team finished the game at 22 under par (-22) for the entire tournament, which has put them at the lower end of the leaderboard.
