Can Rickie Fowler bounce back and prove his critics wrong in the upcoming PGA Tour events?

Rickie Fowler’s 2024 season was a major letdown; we don’t say this, but the statistics do. After his thrilling win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic last year, it was quite obvious for the fans to expect him to keep the momentum going, but instead, Fowler’s 2024 season went under the tracks. With no top-10 finish all year, and sitting out of the Wyndham Championship, he did not make it to the standings to compete in the FedExCup Playoffs.

His life on the course might have been dwindling, but on the personal front, 2024 was a happy year. He welcomed his second daughter into the world and shared the news with the world, “My family!! Right where I’m supposed to be. Welcome to the crew, Nellie.” It seems that he is now ready to take a break from daddy duties and say hi to his clubs again.

Despite all the ruckus surrounding his name, Fowler is set to compete at the 2024 ZOZO Championship, as confirmed by the golfer’s fan page, Rickie Fowler Tracker on X. This $8.5 million event scheduled from Oct 24–27, 2024 at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club could mark a crucial turning point in Fowler’s season and could provide an opportunity to redeem himself after a bad year.

The golfer’s decision to compete at the ZOZO Championship shows that he’s not ready to call it quits just yet. Fowler is also delighted to be part of the event as he said, “It is always a privilege to compete in Japan due to my family heritage. The golf course at ACCORDIA GOLF Narashino Country Club is a wonderful venue and has celebrated many great champions over the years. Outside of the tournament, we get to enjoy the Japanese hospitality, culture and great food which are always amazing. Ultimately, I’ll be going over with the goal to put my name on the trophy.”

When he withdrew from the Wyndham Championship, which was the last chance for the pros to up their standings and make it to the playoffs, fans bashed him, and made comments like, “@RickieFowler obviously doesn’t care about making the playoffs.”

Fowler may not have been active in the golf world for the past few weeks, but that doesn’t mean that the players have forgotten him. Nelly Korda, coincidently recently twinned with Rickie Fowler’s 6-year-old situation.

Nelly Korda mimicked Fowler’s unofficial era

The American golf team just pulled off an epic win at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club after defeating Europe by 3 points. The whole team was celebrating, including World No. 1, Nelly Korda. But the golf world noticed something unusual. While every golfer was seen with their partner, Nelly Korda was standing alone, and that caught everyone’s attention. Golf.com’s Claire Rogers shared a picture of the male golf team posing by kissing their partners on X after their 2018 Ryder Cup victory, and Rickie Fowler was alone at that time as his then-fiance hadn’t accompanied him to the tournament. He got engaged in June 2018 and got married in October 2019.
