Matt Jones isn’t a very popular name amongst golf enthusiasts. But his recent outburst on the PGA Tour and its players has left people frantically searching for his name. Having accepted the contract offered by the LIV Golf Series, the 42-year-old has made some deep accusations against his former colleagues and Tour. If that wasn’t enough, he also recalled the tale of his LIV Golf announcement, which featured none other than Rory McIlroy.

How was the reaction from the pair of loyal PGA Tour pros? Jones explained that the duo was considerate and understood his decision. “They were fine. They understand for a lot of guys, ‘Why wouldn’t you’? I don’t have the money and contracts those guys do. It made sense for me.”

Furthermore, the Aussie golfer claimed that many of the PGA Tour members weren’t harsh enough on the rebel league, which left him puzzled. “Not one person I know was being critical, they might have been a little upset or jealous,” he said.

“I think there’s a lot of that. Maybe they didn’t get contacted or a chance to do it – and then they were bitter and jealous.”

That wasn’t it. He also criticized the PGA Tour for not hosting its events down under but accredited it to American players’ alleged aversion to traveling. “To have someone fly down here for one week would be tough, knowing Americans and how they don’t like to travel, you would have to have a week off before and after to fit it in,” Jones said.
