Golf features a variety of different categories of events as Pro-AM, Mixed team, and even parent-kid duo. However, there are only a handful of events as such. As fans, these events are a great delight to see as favorites from different leagues team up. Not only from the perspective of fans but even with the rising concern of dropping viewership. Adding a few more varieties could help the leagues.

Stacy Lewis, USA Team captain at the Solheim Cup, also saw the opportunity and shared about it in brief during an interview. In a recent interview following her triumphant 2024 Solheim Cup win, Rick Young spoke with the golfer about her exciting vision for the league’s future growth.

The post on X shared the question, “I asked @SolheimCupUSA Captain @Stacy_Lewis earlier today what’s missing in the alignment the @LPGA has with @PGATOUR.” Her answer not only showcased new opportunities but also displayed what Mollie Marcoux had said about players and their responsibility for the league.

Lewis answered how there needs to be more crossovers and having just the TV deal isn’t enough. LPGA Tour currently has a broadcasting deal through PGA Tour with Golf Channel. She even pointed out that there is only one mixed event, i.e., the Grant Thornton Invitational.

Sharing further about her opinion and things that could be added, she said, “Personally, I’d like to see a mixed Presidents Cup. Hopefully, there’s a TGL team coming. I guess I’d just like to see more crossover opportunities, more promotion for events, more promotions for the game. They just need more of a willingness to work together.”

Even though earlier Stacy Lewis’ statements pointed towards Nelly Korda for the bigger responsibility. However, now with the latest interviews, her answers for the development and success of the leagues seemed in a thought-through way. What is your opinion on more mixed events?
