Dustin Johnson is among the top names in golf, there is no denying that. His move to LIV Golf brought him a mind-blowing paycheck of $150 million. Moreover, he also became the captain of LIV team 4Aces GC.
And such big athletes are sponsored by big sports brands. Johnson, who for a long time was seen sporting Adidas clothing and shoes, parted ways with the billion-dollar company earlier this year. But now he appears to have found consolation in an even bigger brand, which also has legend Tiger Woods on its side. Let’s dive into the story.

Dustin Johnson works out in style with multi-billion dollar brand apparel
Dustin Johnson is among those players who suffered heartbreak this week after they failed to earn a place in the upcoming Ryder Cup. For DJ, this was a major setback, who despite moving to LIV Golf, had expressed the desire to play in the Cup. Be that as it may, many people supported his non-selection citing various reasons. And 2023 hasn’t been that great of a year for Johnson with only one win. But as long as he has billion-dollar companies backing him up, his worries should be less. One would like to think that.
Ahead of this year’s LIV Golf Tour, Johnson and Adidas mutually ended their 15-year-old sponsorship deal. Johnson, who had been one of the biggest faces to represent the sports brand, chose to move forward, and it looks like he has landed a partner which has far more cachet than the previous one.
A few days ago, the 4Aces GC shared a workout video of their captain where he is sporting Nike’s shoes at the gym. While Adidas has a market value of 35.4 Billion, Nike, which also sponsors the legendary Tiger Woods, is far ahead at $155.61 billion.

Why did Dustin Johnson end his 15-year-old relationship with Adidas?
Johnson ended his brand partnership with Adidas for the sake of brand-building of 4Aces GC at which he is also an equity partner besides being the captain. His relationship with Adidas didn’t fit in with his future plans.
Speaking about the decision, Adidas Golf president Jeff Lienhart told ESPN: “We’ve mutually agreed to part ways with long-time Adidas athlete, Dustin Johnson. We’ve had a front-row seat to see him win multiple major championships, ascend to the No. 1 ranking, and cement himself as one of the best golfers in history.” Moving ahead, the brand wished him success.
