Nelly Korda took a break after the Solheim Cup defeat to recuperate from the agonizing blow at the hands of Europe. However, after the break, she came back to the BMW PGA Championship and, most recently, to a sixth-place finish at the Maybanks LPGA Championship.
As the golfer has taken part in the unique tournament in the last two years, speculation was rife that she might tee off this year again. Unfortunately, so far, it’s not been clear if the nine-time LPGA Tour winner is going to play at the PNC Championship. So far, six defending champions have announced their names in the field, which doesn’t include anybody from the Korda family.
The PNC Championship is special for the former World No. 1 for more than one reason. It was at this tournament in 2021 that the 26-year-old golfer met her idol, Tiger Woods. The 26-year-old LPGA Pro asked for a photo, to which the 15x Major winner gladly agreed.
