After concluding the LIV Golf 2024 season with a bang, Jon Rahm started playing on the DP World Tour. However, his last appearance was at the Andalucia Masters in Marina, where he finished with a solo sixth position. It has been over a month since he decided not to play any of the DP World Tour events. Despite being ranked 38th in the standings, he decided to opt out of the 2024 DP World Tour Championship.
Only the top 50 players would be competing, and well he will not be one of them. Rahm even skipped the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, despite being eligible to be a part of the playoff. But the question is, why is the Spaniard not playing? As it turns out, his fellow golfer David Puig has the answer to it.
David Puig appeared in the latest episode of the SubPar podcast. While talking about his journey, he spoke about Jon Rahm’s 30th birthday. He turned thirty on November 10, and they celebrated it together in Mexico. The Spaniard and his wife, Kelley Cahill arranged a lot of tequila and threw a great party. Puig said, “I don’t like tequila either. I don’t know why. I might be, I might be a little weird on that, but I drank a lot, not tequila, but I still drank a lot, you know, so it’s untypical.” They along with some other friends of Jon Rahm celebrated the grand party together. This is probably why Rahm could not make it to the official events of the European Tour.

Jon Rahm and Kelley Cahill welcome a baby girl
Jon Rahm and his wife Kelley Cahill got married on December 13, 2019. They already had two kids, Kepa, who is 3 years old, and Eneko, who is 2 years old. They announced being pregnant with their third child, but this time there were a lot of complications for nearly two months. However, in March, things started to clear up, and Rahm said, “She’s doing good. There was a dark moment there with the pregnancy.”
After having their first daughter, the couple was elated. On October 1, Jon Rahm shared pictures of their baby girl from the hospital with them, and wrote, “So blessed to have welcomed our daughter Alaia Cahill Rahm into the world last week. Mama and baby girl are both healthy and doing great, I can’t wait to get back home to them.” Well, after struggling they did manage to reap what they sow, and they do deserve to celebrate their hearts out after so many accomplishments this year.
