Tiger Woods 2024 season concluded as quickly as it started. Throughout the entire year, the 48-year-old played only eleven rounds across different courses, with only one full event being the Masters, hinting that winning might no longer be possible for the Florida resident. Through some good and bad days, the 15-time major champion is now resting from playing professional events. However, that does not mean he has stopped his off-course activities, and you won’t stop seeing him on the greens.

The annual Nexus Cup has made a full return. It is a team event hosted by the TGR Foundation with teams of amateur golfers at the Liberty National Golf Club since 2019. Each year, 18 foursomes compete over two days, with one team ultimately announced as the winner. But that is not the only thing the amateurs get at the Nexus Cup. Last year, Will Zalatoris, Rickie Fowler, Kevin Kisner, and Joe LaCava appeared at the Nexus Cup to give a special clinic for the invite-only amateur golfers.

But the action does not stop at the golf course. While the golfers compete in the morning, the Nexus Cup provides them with ultimate fun in the evening, treating them to a four-course dinner with exclusive chef dishes, beverages, and more at the NEXUS Club New York, an expensive and elite private membership club in Manhattan. During the inaugural season, the NEXUS Cup dinner participants watched “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon and Tiger Woods, unplugged.

So, even though Woods took time off from PGA Tour events, he has remained busy with his own endeavors. Speaking of the NEXUS Cup, as the event started on September 9th, there are already things the 48-year-old has arranged and certain perks that await the winning team.

What do the Nexus Cup participants get from Tiger Woods?

The NEXUS Cup provides amateur golfers with a chance to play with the best golfers and learn a lot. It also donates to the TGR Foundation, helping to create better opportunities for other youths under Tiger Woods’s foundation. There are more benefits for the participating teams too.

First and foremost, the team of three gets a special meet-and-greet with Woods and the opportunity to take photos with the 82-time PGA Tour winner. They also receive team apparel, gear, and personalized tour bags, and headcovers. In the past few editions, the winning team of the NEXUS Cup was given a chance to play in the annual Hero World Challenge in Hawaii, become a part of Woods’s Tiger Jam, and/or receive the highly coveted Rolex watches.

On the first day of the NEXUS Cup, Lucas Glover and Will Zalatoris met with the participants. In the evening, Woods, Fowler, and Zalatoris played an entertaining game of ‘Who Is Most Likely’ with the teams watching live. On September 10th, Woods will likely lead the clinic and conclude the NEXUS Cup by announcing the winner and hosting an extravagant night at the NEXUS Club.
