The speculations of PGA golfers joining LIV Golf are in the air, and the media cannot get enough of it. The rivalry between the PGA tour and LIV is taking a new turn every day after the inaugural season’s completion. Important players’ names from the PGA tour are said to join LIV for next year’s events. Saudi-backed circuit commissioner Greg Norman also commented on the speculations.

What did LIV Golf say about the rumors?

According to various reports, big names like Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, and Adam Scott are rumored to be part of LIV next year. However, there have been no solid or official announcements about the same. The names have been making rounds on Twitter, and people have been speculating about names like Tyrrell Hatton to join the Saudi-backed tours.

However, Sky Sports News reporter Jamie Weir has denied the rumor of Hatton joining Norman’s LIV. He tweeted, “I can confirm this is 100% not true. Tyrrell very happy on the PGA Tour and going nowhere.” Similarly, the two-time major championship Greg Norman has also refrained from commenting on the names. In a recent interview, he mentioned that LIV aims to get seven golfers from the top 20 to join. 

Also, he mentioned that the Saudi-backed tour concept is exciting, and players find it ‘liberating.’ He said“The ones on LIV feel like they have been liberated. There are players on the PGA Tour that we’re speaking to today that want to be liberated.”

From the statement, one can conclude that there are a few names in the head of Norman and LIV who will be part of the tour. However, for now, the rumors are just false alarms until authorities make official announcements; they are mere speculations.

What will happen to the players leaving PGA?

If the PGA players leave the tour and join LIV, their fate will be the same as the current LIV defectors. They will be suspended from the PGA tour and won’t be allowed to play any major event on the circuit.

Also, they might face a backlash from the fans, and big names like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy might not encourage the decision. They have been against the Saudi-backed circuit and have refused to join it.
