Justin Thomas is definitely having a tough time on the course. In 2019, he grabbed eleventh place for himself at the Open Championship. This time, everyone anticipated fierce competition from him. Unfortunately, he didn’t make the cut.
But his misfortune didn’t end there. The 3M Open is currently ongoing. The competition is significant because it awards FedEx Cup points, which are also crucial for qualifying for the Ryder Cup. He sadly didn’t make the cut. He shot an even-par 71, falling two strokes short of the cut with a tournament total of 2 under.
In the Masters and US Open, he too failed to make the cut. It would now be difficult for him to be one of the six chosen by U.S. Captain Zach Johnson, given his current performance. Thomas is now ranked No. 14 in terms of points, and the top six players automatically qualify for the coveted event.
Surely the fate of Thomas looks gloomy now, but we can never be sure how the forthcoming Wyndham Championship will affect the situation. Let’s hear Thomas’ opinion on his performance.

It is safe to say this year has been cruel to Thomas. Like every other athlete, he must feel crushed inside by this. But at the end of the day, it’s the little silver linings that matter the most.
Thomas maintained his optimism throughout this trying experience and expressed that many wonderful things would follow it. “I really feel like great things are coming,” said Thomas.
Every player has to go through a rough patch in their career some day. But what truly distinguishes a true athlete is how they bounce back from this and perform well again. We are hopeful that Thomas will improve quickly and increase his Ryder Cup chances.
