In February of this year, Talor Gooch locked in his first LIV Golf victory. Nine months later, at the end of the season, he walked away with the individual champion trophy and $36 million in his pocket. It’s been a dream season for the American pro, which has made him the hottest prospect on LIV Golf right now.

The record-breaking form that saw him become the first back-to-back event winner in LIV Golf will also draw Gooch a number of suitors in the transfer window. For the 31-year-old pro, the options are many. Will he grab the opportunity to start the next chapter in his career?

Gooch, for the record, changed his team in the inaugural season. Debuting for 4Aces GC under the leadership of Dustin Johnson, the Oklahoma native left for Rangegoats GC. The reason? To link up with his long-time friend and college buddy, Harold Varner III.

Currently, a lot of teams are eyeing a change in their roster. The Brooks Koepka-led Smash GC is at the forefront. After the public slamming of his teammate Matthew Wolff for his lack of commitment, one spot is sure to open up there. Moreover, with Chase Koepka’s future hanging by a thread because of his drop-zone finish, a major shake-up looks to be on the line.

And who better to fill in than Gooch, the three-time winner of this season? It would be interesting to see the LIV Jeddah champion and the runner-up join forces next year. Additionally, Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC might be open to change as well. Considering Anirban Lahiri’s contract is also expiring, if he chooses to sign with a different team, that will leave one spot empty on DeChambeau’s roster.

What kicks off all the possibilities is LIV Golf’s decision to throw open a transfer window in the offseason. The announcement came a little too late, but it does provide ample opportunities for teams to change their lineup.

As per LIV Golf, the offseason window is already underway, with a midseason transfer window also on the cards. The top 24 players on the leaderboard have a sureshot spot in the next season. However, they have the option to reject a contract renewal offer and join a different team if they choose to.

The story is a little different for the players in the open zone, though. For the golfers who finished at 25-44 on the leaderboard, their fate is in the team’s hands. If their contracts are expiring, it depends on the team whether they choose to extend the contract or not.

The transfer window will end when there are only four spots left. One of these four spots will be filled by the top scorer from the Asian Tour’s International Series, which is currently led by Andy Ogletree. The other three spots will be filled by the top three players from the LIV Promotions tournament. Will Talor Gooch take the chance for a new experience? What do you think?
