After facing a myriad of backlash over its existence, the LIV Golf Series is proving everyone wrong. The announcement of the $3 billion merger has shaken up the golf world, but it has also enhanced the breakaway league’s reputation enormously.

Henceforth, it seems like LIV Golf has ascended to usher in a new era. The Greg Norman-led league inked a meaningful deal merely hours before its LIV London event, at the site where the Saudi-backed league first emerged.

Among the various scrutinies thrown at them, one aspect stood out. The LIV Golf Series failed to fix its abject viewership rates, which drew widespread ridicule from the golf community.

The league completed its initial season without a broadcasting partner, with its games streamed for free on YouTube. It eventually landed a contract with the CW Network, although the deal drew flak from the golf community.

While its agreement with the CW Network is in place, the LIV Golf Series has pulled the throttle on its viewership dreams. The Greg Norman-led league has agreed to partner with ReachTV to broadcast its coverage onto roughly 2,500 airport screens and 500,000 hotel rooms across North America.

The move marks another ambitious attempt by the new series’ entourage to evolve the sport’s traditional viewers. “Our league is continually looking for innovative ways to connect the sport that we love with new audiences, and this partnership will give travelers more chances to catch many of golf’s biggest stars in action,” Will Staeger, LIV Golf CMO, said.

The latest television deal isn’t the only big announcement from the Saudi-backed series. Since the merger, the league has made sustainable advancements to its approach, which include a new project named ‘Project Unleashed.’
