Can John Daly's son live up to his father's legacy in the USGA challenge?

Pressure can really break an athlete, and experienced golfers know this! Hence, they do not want their kids to give up the game because of its unavoidable pressure. And that was exactly the case with the golf veteran, John Daly. As his son John Daly II is about to tee off in the U.S. Amateur, his dad has a few words for the young golfer.

In a recent story posted by the golfer on his Instagram, John Daly shared the post by the USGA and said words of encouragement to his son, ahead of the amateur tournament. The caption written on the story was beautiful and full of John Daly’s life lessons. “My boy…. always do your best”,  read the caption, the 7-word reminder is enough to fuel little John for the upcoming competition.  “Everybody’s best is different”, the caption continued.

The golf legend has undergone not one, but two knee replacement surgeries, and has bravely battled cancer. And as if that wasn’t enough Daly also had to withdraw from the golf tournament at Royal Troon due to a knee injury. He shared a painful-looking photo of his swollen knee on Twitter, explaining that he has iliotibial band syndrome, a common overuse injury that causes inflammation and irritation. After his injuries became his enemy and the pressure became undeniable, it seems like Daly was trying to tell his son not to get too indulged in the competition and the prize, because it could take a toll on him.

And that is exactly what Daly was trying to tell his son, “You can’t always be the best, but you can always do your best 👊🏻 ”, such a great reminder for Daly II. With these motivational lines, Daly Jr will surely do his best in the game and it won’t matter if he wins or loses because the young golfer will know that his father supports and loves him no matter what.
