Dustin Johnson chose LIV Golf over the PGA Tour and bought a team in the league. The 24-time PGA Tour winner has a 25 percent stake in his 4 Aces GC. The 2023 season for the 4 Aces was not what they expected. In the 14 events throughout the season, Johnson’s team won only twice. Once in LIV Golf Adelaide and second in LIV Golf London.
However, the team had the top three finishes in five events, which advanced them with more points. Ending up fourth on the LIV Golf Miami scoreboard and having one player released from the team indicates that there will be a change in his team. It should be noted that even after having an upsetting Miami event, they are still leading the team board.
Johnson wished for a better showcase of skills by his team. However, except for Peter Uihlein, no other player had a stunning round. Johnson and Perez both finished 3 and 1 over par for 18 holes, respectively. Pat Perez owing to his imperfect form also is out of the top 24 on year-end standings and faces release from the team.
One thing’s for sure, Johnson will have a different team starting LIV Golf 2024. And one player that will surely be out is Pat Perez. Additionally, with the PGA Tour’s allowing its players to join the LIV Golf for just one event, 4 Aces GC may have newer faces from the prestigious Tour.
