Tiger Woods is a big name in the golf world. At this point, it’s almost unjust not to mention him as the icon of icons, standing as the ideal of inspiration for most of today’s golfers, one such being Michelle Wie West.

Michelle Wie West, the LPGA star, who recently decided to step away from the limelight to retire and prioritize her role as a mother, has been an avid Tiger Woods fan throughout her life. The American pro has been very vocal about how in childhood she was forced to love Tiger Woods. However, it mustn’t come as a shocker that interestingly, despite Wie West having Tiger Woods as her role model, her all-time favorite idol isn’t Woods, contrary to what one might expect.

Who does Michelle Wie West idolize? 

Recently, Michelle Wie West took to Instagram to post her favorite fangirl moment with her social media following. The retired golfer posted a carousel post of her pictures from her visit to Busan, South Korea.

One of the pictures featured former LPGA pioneer, Se Ri Pak, the veteran Korean golfer who played for LPGA and now has a YouTube channel called ‘Se Ri TV’, where she talks about golf development through junior golf training and does other fun activities. 

The post by Wie was accompanied by a caption that read: “Thank youuuuuu @seripak1998 (older sister) for inviting me to play in your Charity World Match in Busan! Had the best time seeing everyone again and catching up. 3 days in Korea was way too short, hope to be back again sooooon. Thank you for the warm welcome, Korea!  (love you).”

Wie later posted the post on her Instagram story with the caption, “When your idol invited you to Korea @seripak1998”

Michelle Wie West joins hands with TGL

Michelle Wie West recently made news after the announcement of her joining TGL as LAGC’s investor along with American women’s soccer player Alex Morgan. The two had insinuated their collaboration with Serena Williams’ TGL team long before joining, and the fans were anticipating it before the official announcement itself.  

Prior to the announcement, Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, had interacted with West on social media, suggesting that she should join the Reddit founder, and his wife and the former LPGA star had replied with an enthusiastic, “I got you.”

Soon after the announcement, the news came as a full circle moment for the fans as they were already expecting something, and their speculations came true.
