There hasn’t been anything much exciting for the Brisbane-based golfer, Cam Smith. Well, that’s what every onlooker would feel if they see his individual performance on the course. However, now the golfer had some crucial developments in his personal as well as professional life, spicing things up. Smith recently clinched a team victory at the LIV Golf Miami, where he was placed T9 in the individual competition.
Along with his victory at the course, the golfer has also welcomed his first baby. After the birth of Remy last week, the golfer won his first event ever. Smith had earlier said to the press, “I’m more excited than anything.” To top that up, he has “baby luck” on his side. Recently, when he was asked about his feelings on winning after becoming a dad, he gave a shout-out to his baby.
The 2022 Open Championship winner said, “It’s cool; he’s the winning formula for the team, obviously, I think. One from one, Remy is. It’s so cool.” Well, as of now, there is no doubt about it. The first appearance turned the result in favor of the team. The golfer had a tough time staying away from the kid but is now eyeing the upcoming Masters Tournament, hoping to perform better.

Asking about his good luck charm, the moderator asked, “Will he be your good luck charm going into Augusta next week?” Without any second thought, the golfer gave a hilarious answer, saying, “I hope so, otherwise, he won’t be coming to any other events. (Laughter.) I’m joking, by the way.” Smith has been close to the victory with his T2 finish in 2020, but there is a fair possibility of him grabbing the title. Now, with his 2025 appearance, the golfer is hoping that the luck will follow him as he continues the 1:1 win ratio to the Masters.

Apart from winning, it will be a delight for the fans to see the Smith family with the cute white bib at the event supporting the golfer. But before we head into the Masters with all hopes, let’s take a look at his performance and ongoing form. Can speculations be drawn from his current going?
Cam Smith’s ongoing performance
The 31-year-old has been on the move with his performance on course. The golfer has secured 12 professional wins. But for the fact, his last win came in 2023, it will be a valid point to consider his ongoing form. Smith won two events in the 2023 schedule, including London and Bedminster. After that, he has had multiple top-5 and top-10 finishes but no wins.

Similarly, in 2025, the golfer, out of his five appearances in the LIV schedule, has a T9 finish at Miami, which is the only top-10 finish he has achieved. The other performances include two top-20s and two top-30s. But, sidelining the results, the golfer’s scorecard shows optimism about his upcoming performances. The parabolic curve looks to be on the sunny side of the field. Until now, he only had three sub-par rounds, while the rest were par or under par. Now that’s a reflection on the positives!
Even his last performance at the Masters was decent enough. He finished T6 with his rounds of 71-72-72-71 in 2024. Let’s hope that the charms of his personal life transition into good luck for his future games. But can that be the key to Cam Smith‘s first Masters victory? What are your thoughts on it?
