“Feeling very good. Feeling really, really good about this year in general,” Jon Rahm said ahead of the Masters Tournament. But Rahm’s good feelings didn’t follow him at Augusta National. The LIV golfer started out poorly but finished a solid T14, many scores behind fellow LIV golfers Patrick Reed and Bryson DeChambeau. But the spirits aren’t down for the 2023 Masters champion, according to the latest LIV Golf update.
Having played at the Masters Tournament, Jon Rahm’s parent league made a social media update of Jon Rahm playing at Whisper Rock Golf Club. On Tuesday, Rahm was playing alongside fellow Spanish golfer David Puig at Whisper Rock, an exclusive course near his Arizona home. LIV Golf shared a picture of Jon Rahm’s scorecard and said, “Just a normal midweek round for @jonrahm around Whisper Rock Golf Club 😂.” So, how did the LIV golfer do? Well, extremely well, for one thing.
While Puig recorded an impressive 65, Rahm delivered a remarkable 59, winning the match 6&5. Rahm started strong with a 29, featuring five birdies and an eagle, and then continued his impressive play with another five birdies from the tenth to the fourteenth, finishing the round with a total of just 30 strokes. That is, without a doubt, a beautiful score.

And Jon Rahm seems to have matched his best-ever score on the Whisper Rock. According to Jon Rahm, in 2021, he finished a 59 during his first round with new Callaway gear at Silverleaf Golf Club in Scottsdale. Is this an indication of his return to peak form in the 2025 season? Well, according to the fans, it is.

Golf fans cannot help but be in awe of Jon Rahm’s skills at the course
The first person to take note of Jon Rahm’s extraordinary feat was no one but the Spanish golfer David Puig Corrius who expressed admiration for Rahm’s impressive play despite the loss. So, according to what information we have, Jon Rahm’s match play performance at Whisper Rock was a rollercoaster, leading to 6 points with 5 holes left and ultimately winning the match. Sharing the scorecard on his Instagram story, Corrius said, “Not bad for Mr @jonrahm! Tough to lose 6/5 shooting 65 at Whisper Rock.”
Another fan seemed just as much in awe as the other fans and said, “Wow…IDC if it is round with friends or tournament round. A legit 59 is incredible. Too many “experts” think Jon can’t get the job done since he moved to LIV. Going to be nice to listen to them when he gets a major real soon.”
What’s your perspective on:
Is Jon Rahm's 59 at Whisper Rock a sign he's ready to dominate the majors again?
Have an interesting take?
Well, if you’re looking at Rahm’s majors records, then the LIV golfer won two majors (2021 U.S. Open and 2023 Masters Tournament) before leaving the Tour in 2023 December. Since then, he has played in three majors, including the Masters Tournament in 2024 and 2025. In 2024, he finished T45 at the Masters, and in 2025, he finished T14. If Jon Rahm’s performance at Whisper Rock is not an indication, then take his Masters run as one.

One of the fans said, “59 is insane.” The design was made to challenge low-handicap and professional golfers and features demanding angles and fairways from the back tees. It offers generous landing areas for golfers and ample chipping areas around most greens. However, it is also known for being a very tough track. Golf Digest ranks it 174th.
Lastly, another set of two fans added an interesting bit to the conversation. One fan said, “Seems good” while the other said, “Blowing off some steam ig.” If you’re looking at the 2023 Masters champion’s rounds at Augusta National, you’d pretty much think the same. The LIV golfer started out poorly at Augusta National and finished on a much better score. His finishing scores in all four rounds? 75-71-70-69. Undoubtedly, that didn’t sit well with the 2x major champion. Well, let’s hope he performs well during the last three majors of the year!
