Till now, Fleetwood has had a fantastic season with numerous top-10 finishes across various events. However, his accurate gameplay still hasn’t been bestowed with a title on the PGA Tour. While his skills in several tournaments have allowed the golfer to reach close to claiming a victory, the final rounds have dragged him back from the victory.

A similar situation was encountered by the golf star last weekend in Memphis. Consequently, the professional couldn’t cross the finish line and take home the title. Thus, he finished the tournament at T3 along with four-time major champion Rory McIlroy at 14-under-par. Thanks to his eminent presence on the greens, the Fleetwood pouched $1.16 million for his efforts.

Now, this amount would not have been the highlight for the professional had it not been for the astonishing feat that was tagged along with it. Despite the disappointment in the form of a near win, Fleetwood has now accumulated over $20 million after his finish at the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship.

The year 2023 has been a time of constant ebb and flow for Fleetwood. While the T3 position on the FedEx St. Jude Championship would have been disappointing for the golfer, it certainly was not the first time the Englishman choked toward the end of a tournament. Most of the preceding tournaments of the year saw the 32-year-old displaying exceptional skills on the greens.

However, in a recent interview post the T3 finish at TPC Southwind, the English golfer revealed his positive mindset. He acknowledged the frustration that these almost wins tend to cause, yet felt it was better this way.
