The unstoppable Scottie Scheffler‘s dominance on the greens halted when speculation about him taking paternity leave surfaced. Consequently, the #1 golfer decided to take time off and missed the Zurich Classic, the CJ Cup, and the Wells Fargo Championship. Furthermore, the pro was uncertain about his participation in the PGA Championship. Fortunately, Scheffler’s uncertainty dissipated when he welcomed fatherhood just days before the tournament.
Now, attention turns to the 2024 PGA Championship, but before that, Scottie Scheffler surprised the community once more, leaving them astonished. Recently, during an interview on PGA Tour radio with Gary Williams, Scheffler was asked, “Have you seen Jerry Maguire?“ referring to the classic American sports comedy-drama film.
The golfer responded with a brief “Nope.“ Following this revelation, Williams expressed surprise, exclaiming, “Oh my gosh!“ He later elaborated on the movie, explaining how a character sees himself on the big screen. After the explanation, he attempted to draw parallels between the character and Scheffler, asking, “Do you know how much attention you are getting?”

In response to Williams’ question, the 28-year-old revealed, “Not really, sometimes I feel from the fans out on the course which is a good thing when I am out there playing and competing hearing the cheers and is really special.”
While emphasizing the significance of fan support, the pro further disclosed, “But as far as media tension and stuff like that not really just because I do my best, so I just kinda stay out of it, you know, I try to stay in my little world and come here and compete do my best and then go home and live my life.” Past events and the current clip indicate that the pro prioritizes his game and family equally. Now, following the birth of his baby, the #1 golfer is ready to return to the course.
