Tyrrell Hatton proved all his doubters wrong as he captured the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship just a few hours ago. And he did so in convincing fashion against some of the best in the world like Robert Macintyre, Tommy Fleetwood, Jon Rahm, and 164 other players. That is an impressive feat, to say the least.
What makes it even more impressive is the fact that he sat at a far worse position at the end of round 2. The first two days of the event were not as kind as he ended Round 2 at T22. His incredible comeback story began on day 3 when he scored 11-under par to top the list. His efforts ensured that he only needed -2 points to keep his place and win the tournament. Seems like 3 is a lucky number for Tyrrell Hatton as this was also his 3rd triumph in Alfred Dunhill. He also became the first man to win the title 3 times.
After Hatton’s victory, Martin Dempster of the Scotsman suggested that they might raise a statue of the Englishman at the St. Andrews venue. Only time will tell if this happens. Hatton had also conquered other exploits during his time in Alfred Dunhill Links Course.
