Where is Nelly Korda? This question was on the minds of everyone who follows the LPGA pro closely. The 26-year-old missed the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. She was nowhere to be seen at the Lacoste Open de France. Moreover, the cover girl of LPGA was nowhere to be seen on LPGA’s feed. Finally, there is a positive update!

After two weeks’ hiatus, the USA golfer is back on track. Although she hasn’t shared any updates herself like she usually does, an Instagram video from a renowned golf instructor shows her gearing up for the next tournament.

After a heartbreaking Solheim Cup defeat, Korda isolated herself from public view. Now, the eight-time LPGA Tour winner has sought help from a professional putting instructor. In an Instagram video shared by Eric Dietrich, Korda, who is currently in her home state of Florida, is seen rolling the ball into the cup.

Putts might seem like the easiest of shots in golf, but, under pressure, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep the ball rolling in the right direction. Often, the final outcome of a tournament boils down to the last shot on the final hole. How well one can take a measured shot decides the fate of a tournament. At this moment, no one knows it better than the young golfer.

In the video, Korda is seen practicing inch-perfect short putts. Dietrich, a professional putting instructor, shared two clips of Korda’s practice. “With awesome improvements in a short period of time. Looking forward to watching her make a lot of putts,” wrote Dietrich on his post. Sometime ago, Korda switched to a left-hand low grip for putting. In this video, however, she is seen adopting a more traditional style.

The three-time Solheim Cup star missed her putt on the 16 hole in the singles match against Carlota Ciganda. The Spanish golfer capitalized on that to take a one-up lead, moving to the 17 hole. At the 17 hole, a brilliant approach shot landed her ball just two feet away from the hole.

Korda had no option but to watch in despair as Ciganda earned the one point required for Europe to retain the Solheim Cup. Since then, the young golfer has shut herself off from public view.

Why was Korda’s disappearance so surprising?

What made it more surprising was that Nelly Korda is known for her graceful personality. She has suffered setbacks, but never before has she disappeared completely from public view. Now, it is revealed that the one-time major winner was busy perfecting her putts.

Clearly, the Cup defeat took a toll on Korda. After going 4-0 down in the first round of foursomes, the USA made an inspiring comeback to take the game to the penultimate round in the singles. She, herself, overcame her 3-point deficit against Ciganda before blowing up the momentum at the 17. The three-day campaign exhausted her physically and mentally.

But from the recent video, it appears that she is preparing hard to make a comeback to pro golf soon. Fans might expect to see their favorite star at the BMW Ladies Championship. However, we have to wait until the roaster announcement to know for certain!
