Tiger Woods’s vast and inspiring career of 27 years can be credited to much of his father and mother’s upbringing. Specifically, his pop was Wood’s first-ever mentor. Earl Woods had a big part in Tiger’s early success and he was certain of his son making it big. Now, in a recent video of Woods, he shared his father’s anecdote for hitting a perfect stinger.

Eldrick ‘Tiger’ Woods was given the name ‘Tiger’ by his father Earl Woods. Woods started a passion for golf at the age of 3, after watching his father play. Despite his harsh ways, Tiger cherished his father and his lessons.

Earl used to teach different tactics and the resilience needed to be an excellent golfer. One of those lessons was how to hit a stinger. At the age of 4, Sr. Woods taught him the trick in the simplest language, and he has kept it to himself till now.

In a video posted by Bridgestone Golf on their YouTube channel, Chris Gotterup accompanied Woods. The 82-time PGA Tour winner explained his secret for a perfect stinger. Crediting his father for it, he said, “My dad made it really easy for me.”

He then went on to explain the entirety of the process and how to go from low to the highest height, with his dad instructing him where to stop when he wanted to hit at a certain height. Woods ended the lesson with how his father made it easy and explained it in layman’s terms for a four-year-old. The routes Earl took to teach Woods sometimes are incomprehensible to casual fans but seem to be cherished by the legend.
