The intense competition on the course often showcases the rivalry, but in reality, the bond between the golfers away from the course is totally different. Something which golf enthusiasts witness at the PNC Championship as some of the greatest golfers teamed up with their youngsters to compete at the course. While Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods are among the most talked about father-son duo, there is another duo that even made Tiger Woods proud last year with their debut performance, i.e. Steve Stricker and Izzi Stricker.
The father-daughter duo debuted last year after losing hope of being part of the event. As the event was for a long time focused on the father-son duo, while featuring the major winners. With Stricker having neither of them, he never expected to be a part of it. However, after the invite for the event, Senior Stricker shared his emotions, “The event (PNC) is trying to get more women involved. Izzi kind of fits that mold. I think I got invited because of her, that’s really the thing.”
After being part of the tournament, team Strickers finished in the top 10 with an extraordinary under-16 score. After the performance, even Tiger Woods came to congratulate and praise the 17-year-old debutant for her performance. Izzi Stricker also shared about the same on her Instagram writing, “The coolest week of my life @pncchampionship.” Apart from this, netizens also praised the video shared on X last year from the official account of PGA Tour Champions and wrote, “A special moment for @IzziStricker with @TigerWoods 🥹.”
