LIV Golf has been trying its best to get the best players from the PGA Tour to play in the new league. And Norman’s money-led strategy has successfully worked for most golfers. However, the league can pay the players to participate, not the fans to attend the tournament. And as it was visible, LIV Golf’s Jeddah event had no spectators to attend the game live. Moreover, fans on the internet were consistently roasting the league for failing at attracting viewers.

LIV Golf had no live spectators again
LIV Golf Jeddah was a successful event, except there were no spectators. Brooks Koepka won the game by defeating Peter Uihlein in a playoff, but there were no fans to cheer for him. The number of people inside the ropes was more than the ones outside, and that includes the cameramen and staff.

This condition of the league arises from the consistent hate it has been receiving from golf fans for being associated with Saudi Arabia. Moreover, fans are also not accepting the new league fully since it is acting as a threat to the PGA Tour. And despite all the efforts and arrangements made to accommodate hundreds of fans on the field, none turned up to watch their favorite golfers.

Social media users reacted to the event attracting a very little audience.
Fans react to LIV Golf’s empty fields
A Twitter user posted a picture from the field at the LIV Golf Jeddah event. The picture showed a huge space with only golfers and crew walking on the field, and no fans to witness the game. As soon as the picture was posted, fans began sending all kinds of mixed reactions from across the world.

Because it’s a working day in Saudi. The European tour event doesn’t get a huge amount of fans either. It’s got nothing to do with being LIV.

Fans were right about the fact that LIV Golf hosting events with no spectators to watch might not be worth it. Some fans even doubted if the event actually happened since no one watched it. However, Greg Norman is trying his best to change the format of the game and make it more enjoyable for the fans. But it looks like the world is standing strong with the PGA Tour despite its old and long schedules.
