Earlier this month, Brian Harman stunned the golf world with his win at the 2023 Open Championship. His victory, indeed, was a pleasant surprise because his last win had come over six years ago at the 2017 Wells Fargo Championship. With some incredible golf in Liverpool, the PGA Tour star garnered a lot of attention that week with his play, and he still continues to do so for his win!
Ever since he grabbed the Claret Jug, celebrations have been abounding for Harman. And even though it’s been over a week since it first began, the jubilation has not ceased, with the latest coming in a heartwarming way in his hometown!

After his historic win at the Open Championship, Brian Harman took a well-deserved break and went family vacationing in New York. But every bird that leaves the nest often returns home to prepare to fly again. Similar was the case with the PGA Tour pro, and just recently he returned to his home in Georgia. However, there was a surprise waiting!
The PGA Tour recently shared a video on Instagram where Brian Harman is stepping out of the plane, smiling with a hint of surprise. “@HarmanBrian was welcomed by friends and fans when he arrived home in Sea Island.” With his son in one hand and the Claret Jug in the other, Harman smiles at all the cheers and wishes as he descends from the plane. His wife had been well aware of the surprise that awaited him from his friends and fans and had kept it all a secret.
In the video, he admitted to the crowd about the trophy, “There’s booze in there.” His friends filled it up further, and Harman drank from it, keeping The Open winning tradition alive! As the cheers and celebrations continued, even children were in awe of the victory and ran up to try and touch the trophy.

Fellow PGA Tour players Harris English and Davis Love III, along with his swing coach Justin Parsons, were among the group that greeted him at the McKinnon St. Simons Island Airport. “It’s so cool. It warms my heart seeing everyone here,” Harman said. “My wife played it off pretty well. I was thinking we would just scoot home and not see anybody, so I’m thrilled everyone came out. It’s really touching.”
The video feels like the feel-good aftermath of a well-deserved victory. And along with Harman, his fans from all over the world also shared the experience, with the video instantly going viral online.
