Incredible stats relating to the 2022 Genesis Invitational this week
The 2022 PGA Tour season is into its seventh event of the season. Golfing fans all over the world are eagerly waiting to see probably one of the best professionals of all-time Tiger Woods, who will be present at the event. However, Woods will not be playing at the event and will be the host of the tournament. Moving forward, the Genesis Invitational has some incredible field strength this week, and it’s greater than the 2020 Masters.

Some of the notable names teeing it up this week at the event are Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson as well as, the current World Number One Jon Rahm. The field includes the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Rankings as well as, 16 of the top 20 players as well.
The total field strength this week is 696, which is slightly higher than that of the 2020 Masters Tournament, which had a field strength of 690. Wow! that’s quite a field strength for a non-major event.

The event begins on February 17th and concludes with its final round on February 20th. Well, with one of the best competing at the event, it will be really interesting to see who emerges as the winner.

Defending champion this week
Max Homa is the defending champion this week at the 2022 Genesis Invitational. He finished the event in 2022 with an overall score of 12 under par. Homa won in an epic two-man play-off against Tony Finau. He made a par on the second playoff hole to become the winner of the event. Homa will certainly love to win back to back at the Genesis Invitational.
