There have been plenty of changes to golf since it resumed after a forced COVID break. Among the plethora of hand sanitizers and awareness banners alongside reduced fan interactions, there were plenty of new looks on the circuit. The 52-year-old revealed that he began using Carac cream, which is “a skin cancer chemotherapy treatment on your face for like two weeks.” Mickelson revealed the cream blotched the skin and killed cancer cells that were invisible to the naked eye. His glasses helped him to cover the area around his eyes, which added to the protection. However, he didn’t specify whether he was going through a cancer ailment.

Mickelson also wears his shades for the looks

‘Lefty’ also revealed how playing with the sunglasses was quite comfortable. “I liked it,” he said.“They didn’t move around on my face when I was swinging, I went out and played with them, and I thought, ‘Oh, I’ll give it a try.’ So that’s kind of where it started. And then my eyes were much more relaxed at the end of the day, they weren’t squinting the whole time.”

After hearing Mickelson’s statements, CBS announcer Ian Baker-Finch remarked how older golfers should start wearing sunglasses to protect their eyes. “Well that’s good to know. I know as we get older we should be wearing sunglasses to protect our eyes anyway,” he said.
