Now when the matter was highlighted at the Solheim Cup, Carlota Ciganda showed sisterhood with the footballer.
Carlota Ciganda condemns the humiliating act of Luis Rubiales at the FIFA World Cup
This week European and American players have assembled for the Solheim Cup in Spain. At the event’s presser, Spain’s Carlota Ciganda was asked about the incident. To this, the golfer shared her criticism of indecent Rubiales’ actions and how it affected the entire game.

She said, “I think it was a shame what happened in the end when Spain won the World Cup, I think we should celebrate the World Cup because in the end that is not going to happen many times,”
She continued “I think that Rubiales was obviously wrong, he doesn’t have to act like that, especially in such a public event, when you are in front of everyone.” Hermoso has stood her ground from the very moment that the kiss was not consensual.
After much backlash by the player, federation and the fans Rubiales finally gave resignation. The matter went into court and this week a restraining order was issued against him. Ciganda’s condemnation of the act is a support for Hermoso.
