On Monday, a tragic incident took place at a regular golf club in Dublin which has led to panic among people in the area.

The Gardai (state police force of the Republic of Ireland) are leading an investigation into a matter of shooting that occurred on Monday night, following which the victim was hospitalized.

The Corrstown Golf Club in North Dublin was host to a terrifying shooting on Monday 12th June, where a hunter accidentally shot a man who was looking for golf balls on the course. The incident took place on around 11 p.m. As per the reports from the Irish Mirror, the man who was is in his 40s, was not fatally wounded and was rushed to the Mater Hospital by Armed Support Unit, who were quick to arrive at the scene. Golf Digest also reported the incident.

Since the man who was hit in the upper body had only “non-life-threatening injuries” he is expected to survive as per reports.

From the information that has been gathered by now, it is said that the shooting was not done with any maleficent intention. The hunter and the victim even don’t know each other. The Irish news channel reported, “This appears to be an unfortunate incident. The man who was injured thankfully is doing OK in hospital. The gardai are following all lines of inquiry but it does appear at this stage that it is an accident.”

Accused not charged yet as the shooting was unintentional

It is said that the man who was shot was part of a group who was looking for lost golf balls at the club, and might’ve been mistaken for an animal by the hunter. Since the shot was made with no criminal intent, the hunter has not been arrested or charged.

The hunter who had a licensed weapon and permission to hunt in the area, unintentionally pulled the trigger. The Corrstown Golf Club is a 27-hole parkland course that is open all year round and offers views of Dublin Countryside. Such a shocking incident has caused fear among golf enthusiasts in the area.
