On 7th December, Jon Rahm officially joined the LIV golf and decided to continue his legacy at the PIF-backed league. The news had broken the internet and Rahm became the most expensive signing of LIV Golf since its inception in 2022.

The 11x PGA Tour winner stated his family’s future as one of the main reasons behind his seismic move. Now, after a few days of his shift, the winning pitch by Greg Norman was released, revealing another crucial factor that made Rahm consider LIV Golf as a better option. A tweet published by Flushing It Golf contains the statements made by Norman that intrigued Rahm into the breakaway league.

Norman described his first meeting with Rahm in Arizona, where he met Rahm, “a month or two ago.” He recounted that “one word that resonated with him (Rahm) from me was ” ‘partnership’.” Before leaving Rahm to ponder over his words, Norman asked him and his wife, Kelley to think about it and said, “On any tour, we’re a past serenity, we play our finite time period, we’re great players, execute for a short period of time, 15 years, 13 years, 17 years, whatever it is and then you’re done.”

The CEO of LIV Golf convinced Rahm by saying that, unlike other leagues, at LIV he will be “joining a family” and that he will “have a partnership with us (LIV Golf) across the board.” After their tête-à-tête, Norman urged Rahm to see his future in a different light.

After their first meeting, Norman left an impression on Rahm. While rumors were floating around about Rahm joining the LIV Golf, they again met in New York and it was in this city that they once again spoke about the deal.
