The golf world has seen its fair share of relationship troubles. From Tiger Woods‘ messy divorce in 2009 to his recent public legal breakup with Erica Herman, the legend himself has seen a lot of love controversies. Even the Irish golfer Rory McIlroy faced tons of relationship issues years ago when his engagement with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki fell through. And now the love-trouble saga in golf continues!

In a case much unrelated to the pros, the game itself has caused a drama of sorts in another person’s relationship as a crazy story came to light. A revelation made by a Reddit user about his significant other a while back has caught the golfing world in a mix of worries and laughs as he goes on to ask a very peculiar question, leaving many startled and curious.

The game of golf can prove costly to play, especially for someone just starting out. The cost of membership fees, equipment, balls, attire, and protective equipment, not to mention coaching charges if one is just starting off, would be very high. The user with the nickname AndromedanPrince took to Reddit to pose a problem and, at the same time, a question to the community in a rather hilarious manner: “Wife loves golf, how long till bankruptcy?”

The husband went on to give a little context to the question as he described his wife’s interest in the game. She is all set up to start with clubs, clothes, and the rest. Explaining the process of buying all the equipment, he said, “She went to grab a pair of golf shoes this am, and ended up leaving with another shirt, a visor, and 2 sets of hat clip ball markers,” with an undercurrent of a humorous but worrisome tone.

Further explaining his monetary concerns, he mentioned how the missus is already scoping out her gear for the winter and fall. Finally, he ends the post with a hilarious, albeit serious question: “How long till this turns into Pro v1s and “I really need this titleist 60 degree”?” While golf enthusiasts would be happy regarding the partner’s choices, the situation as per the post comes out as funny yet troublesome for the husband.

When talking about the cost of being in a relationship, one can’t help but think about the GOAT of golf when he won the $30 million lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend, Erica Herman. The former lover had filed the suit claiming that during their six-year relationship, the pair had an “oral tenancy agreement” as per which Herman could continue to live in Tiger Woods’ multi-million dollar mansion for five years even if they split up. However, the court dismissed her claims, following which Herman dropped the case, thus saving the 15-time major winner millions.
