LIV Golf took away some of the most talented players from the American League last year. And among these golfers was this six-time PGA Tour winner, who has had a pretty decent career on the tour, and is now playing as a member of the Ripper GC team on the breakaway circuit.

However, despite his controversial decision to join the Saudi tour, the golf ace has something else as his primary goal. Currently in Australia for the LIV Golf’s Adelaide event, the golfer revealed where his expectations were when it came to earning money. But was it from his tournament performance or something else?

Leishman, 39, has made a name for himself for multiple reasons. His tournament finishes and epic performances on the field have brought him much fame among his fans. In fact, despite a really tough field, the golfer has finished among the top six in three of the last seven Open Championships.

However, other than his time on the course, Leishman gave his fans another reason to remember his name a few years back. And it was when he launched his own beer brand, the Leishman Lager. The golf star made the announcement in March 2019 and informed his fans about the beer being available for them to consume. And believe it or not, the response has been massive!

It took no time for Leishman Lager to become one of the most loved beers among golf fans. And even the golfer himself is highly involved in making sure that the sales keep going up. So much so that despite being in Australia for the prestigious Saudi event, Leishman was more concerned about the money he would make from the “beer sales” than his actual tournament winnings!

When asked about the same during his recent presser, the Aussie said, “Hopefully the beer sales… Looks like we’re going to sell a fair few. Hopefully, we don’t run out. It’s a lot of beer out there. It’s great. Hopefully, on the course, I would like to good couple of rounds to finish off the week.”

Is Leishman happy after joining LIV Golf?

The Australian professional was having an absolute blast on the PGA Tour when he received an unexpected call from LIV Golf. Although the player lost his PGA Tour membership and had to face a huge fall on the OWGR leaderboard for his controversial decision, he seemed to be just fine with it.

“I really enjoyed my time on the PGA Tour and it was a really good time for a change,” he said. Spending a lot of time with boys and a lot less eating alone and all that sort of thing. I’ve got no regrets and certainly very happy where I am.”
