The incident occurred at The Links at Whitehaven in Memphis on 3rd December. The victim was identified to be Mark Coleman, a Memphis community leader. As per reports, Coleman struck his shot toward the wrong hole by mistake.
However, the ball ended up on the pathway of Caldwell, who wasn’t too pleased with Coleman. The accused threw the rogue ball in the other direction and also swung his golf club, which eventually struck the Community Leader on the left side of his head. Though he tried to walk it off, Mark Coleman later fell down from the impact.
From playing golf to getting a brain surgery
After collapsing, Coleman was taken to the hospital for immediate required surgery. It was later reported that he suffered ‘significant brain injuries’. Moreover, the community leader’s brain also underwent internal bleeding after getting struck by the golf club.
