Last Sunday, the last major of men’s golf concluded with delightful gameplay and bad weather. As a matter of fact, with the epilogue of the Open Championship, the 2023 season received four different golf major winners — Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Wyndham Clark, and the latest, Brian Harman. However, while these individuals together gathered a sum of $12.99 million, there was another golf star who strengthened his reputation despite no major win to his name this year. It is none other than, World No.1, Scottie Scheffler!

This feat has everything to do with major tournaments of golf. In fact, it is so distinctive and arduous in its nature that only a dozen of players were able to achieve it. Having said that, let us take a look at this great achievement and who all have been able to accomplish the same!

With the conclusion of all majors of 2023, stats, numbers, and records are bound to make the rounds now. Along similar lines, Golf Digest also announced an interesting element of the golf majors for this season. Through an Instagram post, it reported, “Only a dozen players made the cut at all four men’s majors this year.

While this news was astonishing in itself, the player who was on top of the list (on account of the lowest overall score among the 12) was not a surprise; because it was the 2022 Masters Champion—Scottie Scheffler. Despite ending up winless at all four majors this year, Scheffler produced astounding results at all of them.

His first major, the Augusta Masters, finished at a satisfactory T10 with 4 under par. Second, the PGA Championship witnessed him dominating the field, but only toward the end, he fell short by 2 shots to Brooks Koepka and took the T2 berth. Next, the US Open saw him finish in third place just below Clark and Rory McIlroy at 7 under par. In comparison to these three performances, the Open Championship was his worst score. The 27-year-old wound up at T23, the first time out of the top 10 in the majors in 2023.

These numbers are enough to convince anyone why Scottie Scheffler deserves to be the leader of the players who did not miss a single cut at majors this cycle. His total, per the post, has been 18 under par. Right below him are Viktor Hovland and Jon Rahm at -16, and -15 respectively. Other players, apart from these three in the list of 12 include Brooks Koepka, Tommy Fleetwood, Patrick Cantlay, Cameron Smith, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Reed, Tyrrell Hatton, Ryan Fox, and Hideki Matsuyama.

Golf is a tough sport and hardly any fan will disagree with that. Hence, even though, the World No.1 golfer, Scottie Scheffler is without a win this cycle, his efforts to make cuts in all four major tournaments were applauded by golf fans. They couldn’t help but comment:

Scheffler is killing it.” “He is the most consistent golfer this year by far tho – respect.” “Scottie’s unreal“. Comparing Scheffler to Tiger Woods, some of the enthusiasts chimed in with “Scottie is the next goat“, and “Pretty clear if Scottie keeps it up, he would be the next tiger“.
