Many people enjoy golf because of the calm nature of the sport and clear sunny days on the greens. However, the weather appears to have had other plans of late, making things interesting, or rather tough.
The FedEx St. Jude Championship last week was played in scorching heat in Memphis. Around the same time, a local golfing event in Minnesota witnessed hailstorms. Now a cyclone has come into the picture. Let’s dive into the story.

Cyclone Disappointment Turned Into Fun!
During the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week, the weather was causing a different kind of trouble for the golfers. At the Championship, golfers were trying to focus on their shots but the sun was beating down, making things difficult for them. It appeared the competition was not amongst them; it was rather against the scorching heat. With temperatures soaring into the mid-30s, even the most experienced players were feeling the heat, literally.
But that’s not the end of weather woes for our golfers. In Minnesota, players faced a challenge that was quite the opposite of the Memphis heat. As they teed up and aimed for the greens, the skies opened up, not with rain but with a hailstorm. Now there is another example of extreme weather conditions.
Ohio has been facing quite a lot of rain lately. So much so that many golf courses in the area have turned into waterlogged fields, disrupting golfing action and leaving golfers shocked and disappointed. Before the downpour weather experts though had given a heads-up about what may happen. Be that as it may, folks at the Black Diamond Golf Course in Millersburg, one of the affected courses, didn’t let this dampen their spirits.

Instead of just waiting for the course to dry, someone had the hilarious idea to transform the ninth hole into a gigantic slip ‘n slide. It’s a hoot because Black Diamond is famous for its challenging seventh hole. But thanks to Mother Nature’s monsoon, the ninth hole stole the show. Instead of whacking golf balls, a folk was seen having a blast, sliding and gliding down the fairway. Talk about a climate twist turning a golf course into a playground!

Swinging Through Scorching Heat In Memphis
During the FedEx Championship in Memphis last week, it was extremely hot. Golfers like Tommy Fleetwood and Jordan Spieth had commented about the weather. They had to drink more water, rest in the shade, and be careful not to get too tired from the heat.

They needed to strategize their game differently and be strong physically. However, over the super windy conditions, Fleetwood, troubled though he was, preferred the Memphis heat. “It’s better out there today than playing in 50-mile-an-hour winds at Royal Porthcawl like they had recently for the Seniors Open. It’s easier than that,” he said.
