In 2014, Gretzky spilled the beans about her meeting with Johnson in an interview with Golf Digest, and you won’t believe the details! According to Gretzky, in 2011, her mom, Janet Gretzky, played golf with Dustin at Woods’s tournament. She talked to him about Paulina and invited him to their house, and the rest, as they say, is history. “She told Dustin about her daughter, blah-blah-blah, and invited him to the house that night,” said Gretzky.

Johnson probably thought it was weird, and so did she when her mom asked her to meet him—at least, that’s what Gretzky told us. She also revealed that she wasn’t looking presentable when they first saw each other. Yes, Paulina Gretzky not looking presentable—let that sink in! “I’m sure he was rolling his eyes, and so was I when my mom invited me over to meet this golfer she had just met. So I show up looking like a complete ragamuffin, and here’s this really cute guy,” she further elaborated.

She didn’t stay long, but Dustin made a lasting impression. They exchanged phone numbers, and that was the start of their special connection. Fast forward to the future, the pair has two kids that they love immensely!

The former world champion Johnson had his priorities straight before he met his soulmate, Paulina Gretzky. However, they changed quickly as he started dating her. “For me, golf was always the most important thing. And now, it’s Paulina and the kids,” said the golfer. The pair tied the knot in 2022 and have welcomed their two kids, Tatum and River, into their small family. “Obviously, I love the game of golf, competing and playing. But they’re the most important thing,” the golfer said further.

Gretzky admires this quality of Johnson and says he’s the ‘best dad.’ “He’s my best friend. He’s been so supportive [of] me, and we’re just there for each other,” she said. So it is quite safe to say that this pair was made for each other.
