A Casual Stroll in a Buggy, Turns Tragic As Two Juveniles Suffer a Sorrowful Fate

Golf carts might not seem like dangerous vehicles, but they often lead to hazardous situations. Moreover, they don’t usually possess safety features such as seat belts, lights, and mirrors for tracking vehicles in the back. This resulting in tragic incidents is definitely not unheard of. 

One such incident happened back in April in South Carolina, where the accident resulted in a death. Another followed in August, wherein, three innocent people suffered as an aftermath of a harmless golf cart ride. The rate of tragedies involving golf carts is evidently spiking, and one such incident has struck again. Only this time, it involves two juveniles. 

Yet another golf cart mishap involving two underage golf enthusiasts

A seemingly innocuous vehicle, a golf cart, might seem like a safe option for a spin. However, various reports disagree.

In a recent unfortunate development, involving a golf cart and a car, the victims were juveniles. A detailed account of the incident says two youngsters were severely injured when their golf cart collided with a car on Sunday in Woodbury, Nassau. 

The police further elaborated that a 47-year-old woman was driving her 2021 Lincoln Corsair at 6 p.m. on Syosset-Woodbury Street when it struck the golf cart at the intersection of Turret Lane. Later, the victims were taken to the hospital, and severely injured. 

Clearly, these vehicles contribute hugely to incidents involving street mishaps. A report by the Consumer Product Safety Commission says around 15,000 accidents involving golf carts take place in the US every year. And the majority of the cases need emergency care and treatment.

Although the digits might seem unbelievable, they are very much real. In April, an accident near Inman resulted in the death of the cart driver, as per the South Indian Highway Patrol. The sources further said a Nissan Sedan hit the vehicle when it attempted to take a left. One such golf cart mishap also happened in August this year.

An eye-popping incident involves the golf cart in the scenario

A lethal accident took place in Port Aransas on August 4. The incident was so severe that all three victims had to be rushed to the hospital later. The mishap took place at the intersection of Roberts Avenue and Alister Street. Added to that, two people inside the vehicle were in their thirties, and another was a senior citizen.

Given his age, the 60-year-old had higher health risks, so he was transported to the area hospital by a halo flight, and the other two were transferred by ambulance. At that time, they had a critical condition, but presently, the people are stable.
