Tiger Woods commits to another event in 2022
Woods made arguably one of the greatest comebacks in the history of sports at the Masters. Moreover, the 82-time PGA Tour winner was plying his first event since the 2020 Masters in November. Tiger was out from golf for nearly nine months due to severe injuries to his right leg because of a near-fatal car accident in February 2021.
With the Masters concluded on Sunday, Tiger has now confirmed his next stop for the 2022 Summer. The World Golf Hall of Fame Member has committed to play at the JP McManus Pro-Am on July 4th- 5th, a week before the Open Championship at the home of golf in St. Andrews.
Not to forget, in his interview with Sky Sports after the final round on Sunday, Woods spoke about playing at the Open Championship. He said, “But I am looking forward to St. Andrews. It’s my favorite golf course in the world, so I will be there for that one.”
On Thursday, it was announced that Woods would make at least one appearance ahead of the Open. He will play at the Pro-Am event in Ireland at Adare Manor, which will also host the 2027 Ryder Cup. Moreover, Tiger will make his fourth appearance at the event. He had committed to playing the event before it was rescheduled due to COVID-19 restriction.
