Round two at TPC Louisiana was filled with action and was just the round every golf fan needed to watch. The round on Friday saw a record set up by probably one of the greatest players of all time, Sam Snead, being broken.
Not to forget, Snead also holds the joint record with Tiger Woods for the most number of wins on the Tour. Both the professionals have a whopping 82 wins. Moreover, the seven-time major championship winner also was the oldest professional to make the cut in a PGA Tour event before the second round yesterday.
Sam made the cut at the 1979 Manufacturers Hanover Westchester Classic and took to establish the record in 67 years, two months, and 23 days. However, a fellow professional broke it at TPC Louisiana.

Jay Haas, the Tour veteran, playing alongside his fellow professional son Bill Hass broke the golf legends record on Friday. The 68-year-old made a five-footer for par on the 18th hole to help him climb just into the cut line. As a result, Jay broke the golf legends record to become the oldest professional to cut the Tour event. Team Haas’ overall score for the event stands at eight-under-par. Jay made the cut at 68 years, four months, and 20 days.
Moreover, he also leads the Tour with 591 cuts made in his professional career. He is also in the second position behind Mark Brooks on the all-time starts list with 799 events.
At 68 years, 4 months, 20 days, Jay Haas (paired with son, Bill, at the Zurich Classic) becomes the oldest player to make a cut on the PGA TOUR; previous distinction belonged to Sam Snead (67 years, 2 months, 23 days/1979 Manufacturers Hanover Westchester Classic).

Jay also spoke about the nervous putt for par on the ultimate hole. He said, “That was probably as nervous as I’ve ever been over a putt of that length certainly. It sounds silly just to have a chance to make the cut.” Moreover, his words also prove the pressure a professional goes through while making a short put.
