Prince William’s unforgettable golf accident in school
All three children of the Prince and Princess of Wales are getting their education at the Lambrook School in Windsor. Costing them £7,000 per term, the school certainly matches the family’s stature. As part of its co-curricular activities, the school offers several sports including lacrosse, trampolining, badminton, squash, tennis, swimming, basketball, and skiing. And adding to it is also a spectacular 9-course golf course with individuals playing on it for more than a hundred years.

It is a great opportunity for the Prince’s children to explore their golfing skills. His decision to let his children learn golf may be a way for him to overcome a past scary incident. However, despite their likely interest in the sport, they might not prefer asking their dad for tips on the field. It’s reported that Prince William doesn’t have a great history with the sport, and hence the lost interest. And it was about the time when he was a kid himself.

According to reports, Prince William was just eight years old, when he was injured by a golf club during a game with his friends at Ludgrove School. A friend accidentally hit him on the forehead, and it turned into a major injury resulting in a skull fracture. The Little Prince then had to undergo surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Princess Diana immediately rushed to the hospital as soon as she found out about what had happened. She even stayed in a private room there for a night. Moreover, Prince Harry visited his brother in the hospital after his 70-minute-long procedure.
Prince William has been seen displaying his athletic prowess in fields like polo, swimming, and football. While golf is considered the least risky among all these sports, his history could be the reason why he doesn’t ever tee it off in public. Do you think the Prince could still be terrified of the game due to his childhood injury? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
