Rick Lamb is on a hot streak! After one round in the 2025 Veritex Bank Championship, he has managed an 11-under 60 to get a 3-stroke clubhouse lead against the field. Weather may have played spoilsport on Thursday, but that didn’t stop Lamb from continuing to dominate at the Texas Rangers Golf Club. However, the action is not over, as despite continued delays, everyone on the field has continued to chase down the top of the leaderboard.

The Korn Ferry Tour has seen a lot of action recently. With Nick Shipley’s first win in the LECOM Suncoast Classic last week, things are heating up on the season points list. But that’s not the only reason the players are competing in this week’s event. The 2025 Veritex Bank Championship also offers a great paycheck. Let’s learn what the winner and others will earn in Texas on Sunday.

Veritex Bank Championship 2025: Prize money & more

Rick Lamb may be leading the table, but he will be cautious about everyone who wants to chase him down. Nick Shipley is one of them as he sits 6 strokes behind on T30. Last year’s champion, Tim Widing, has already received his PGA Tour card. So he won’t be a threat to Lamb. However, one thing that will remain the same from last year is the prize money. Just like in 2024, this year the Veritex Bank Championship will also be played for $1 million.

Per the Korn Ferry Tour’s Purse Distribution standards, the tournament winner gets an 18% cut of the total prize money. As per Golf News Net, the same standards will also be maintained this year, and the winner will bank $180,000. 65 cuts will receive the rest of the money, with the last-place finisher receiving a $4,000 paycheck. Let’s check out the remainder of the prize money distribution list as per Golf News.

Weather warning in Texas

Rain was the culprit for the latter half of the day in the first round of the 2025 Veritex Bank Championship. The same was observed in the second round as well. But will that be the case on Saturday? Turns out, the penultimate round of the Korn Ferry Tour event will also see some thunderstorms and precipitation. As per Accuweather, rain might interrupt the flow of play on April 26, 2025, for about 1.5 hours.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Rick Lamb maintain his lead, or will Nick Shipley make a stunning comeback?

Have an interesting take?

However, the final round of the tournament seems more pleasant. The weather gods might be more forgiving on Sunday as, despite some humidity, the round should be mostly sunny. The temperature will be stable around 84°F with some wind at 12 mph. Hopefully, that should be enough to complete the entire tournament.
