The 2025 Porsche Singapore Classic is set to ignite the DP World Tour’s Asian Swing with a thrilling showdown at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club. Beginning from 20th March till 23rd, the tournament promises to boast a good lineup of golfers even though the event was established in just 2023.  However, the weather might have some other plans as 2025 has turned out to be quite an unpredictable one, weather-wise. This year’s PLAYERS Championship was also seen to be affected by heavy rain on its final day, so how does it look like over at Laguna National?

This year’s much-anticipated Porsche Singapore Classic has hit a bump in the road with heavy rainfall throwing an early challenge at organizers and players alike. The torrential downpour was captured in a video posted by the DP World Tour’s official X page, showing the island 17th green drenched in rain, underscoring the impact of extreme weather on tournament preparations.

As the weekend unfolds, weather conditions at Laguna National remain unpredictable. Saturday will bring warm and humid conditions with variable cloud cover, and isolated afternoon thunderstorms may disrupt play. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 82.4°F, with winds shifting to the NNE (North-Northeast) at 8-12 mph. Sunday’s forecast mirrors Saturday’s, with highs of 84.2°F and the continued risk of isolated storms. While significant delays seem unlikely, players and fans should remain prepared for weather-related interruptions. Meanwhile, let’s go over the lineup for this year.

Will the Weather Show Mercy for the Singapore Classic?

The 2025 Porsche Singapore Classic boasts a lucrative $2.5 million prize, drawing top contenders eager to make their mark. Leading the charge is Ryder Cup star Robert MacIntyre, alongside a competitive field vying for not just the prize money but also crucial ranking points. The tournament winner will take home a hefty $425,000, matching last year’s payout claimed by Sweden’s Jesper Svensson in a dramatic playoff victory. Beyond the financial rewards, players will battle for 3,500 valuable Race to Dubai points and 1,000 Ryder Cup points. Adding to the stakes, a top-three finish in the four-event DP World Tour Asian Swing could secure a coveted exemption into the US PGA Championship, making every stroke count at Laguna National.
