We’re already at the third match of the LIV Golf 2025 season! The stars of the Saudi-based promotion are preparing to battle at the Hong Kong Golf Club at Fanling, Hong Kong. The tournament has seen some amazing action in the first couple of matches. LIV Golf Hong Kong promises to be just as exciting.
The 70-par rounds will be played on a 6,711 yard course for a $20 million purse. Still pretty early in the season, every LIV Golf pro has a shot at topping the individual leaderboard. They also have an opportunity to push their team up the ranks. But who has the favorite to do so at LIV Golf Hong Kong? Let’s find out.

Jon Rahm
Rahmbo is always a favorite to win any event in which he participates. LIV Golf Hong Kong won’t be any different as all his fellow peers will be wary of what the Spaniard can do. Jon Rahm has been a force to be reckoned with ever since he made his LIV Golf debut. Even in 2025, despite not securing a victory, Rahm is placed second on the leaderboard. Joaquin Nieman, who actually won LIV Golf Adelaide, is 1 point behind him. Such is the domination of Rahm, who has yet to finish outside the top 10 in any LIV Golf event he has played. That makes the 2023 Masters Tournament champions the best bet to win LIV Golf Hong Kong.

Cameron Smith
Cameron Smith and his team, Rippers GC, have been phenomenal ever since LIV Golf began. They may not have the flashiest of players like Bryson DeChambeau or Jon Rahm. But they still managed to win two LIV Golf Team Championships in 3 years. Aiming for a third title for his team and another event win for himself as well. Interestingly, Smith finished at T2 in the 2024 LIV Golf Hong Kong event. That too because he, Paul Casey, and Abraham Ancer went into a three-way playoff. Smith still managed an impressive 13-under par 197 to finish second. Any imitation of the same in 2025 should secure Cameron Smith the title.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Jon Rahm maintain his dominance, or will Cameron Smith steal the spotlight in Hong Kong?

Joaquin Niemann
Joaquin Niemann has also been extremely impressive since 2024. After taking a year to find his feet, Niemann managed to finish second in the 2024 season. He only had 3 performances where he finished about the 10th spot in that season. He’s widely considered one of the better players in professional golf at the moment. Interestingly, the Chilean ended up at T4 in the 2024 LIV Golf Hong Kong event. 2025 has also been great for Joaquin Niemann as he has already captured the LIV Golf Adelaide 2025 title. Aiming to continue his success in LIV Golf, the 26-year-old will be eager to win LIV Golf Hong Kong as well this year.

Carlos Ortiz
Niemann’s teammate, Carlos Ortiz is another great player to come out of Torque GC. He finished 13th on the individual leaderboard in 2024. That did include a win at LIV Golf Houston 2024. And when it came to their visit to Hong Kong in the same season, it was Ortiz who was tied with Niemann for the fourth spot. He tried to match his teammates feat in 2025 as well. Ortiz was one of the players who was making Niemann sweat at the 2025 LIV Golf Adelaide. The Mexican pro finished at T2, 3 strokes behind his Torque GC teammate. So if Joaquin Niemann is anywhere near the top of the leaderboard in LIV Golf Hong Kong, then Carlos Ortiz might also follow suit.
Bryson DeChambeau
It might have been some time since Bryson DeChambeau won a LIV Golf event. In fact, the last time he won was in LIV Golf Chicago 2023. However, being the amazing golfer that DeChambeau is, you can’t ever count him out. His record at LIV Golf Hong Kong further adds to him being a favorite. In 2024, he finished 2 strokes away from the top of the leaderboard and 1 point above Jon Rahm with a 12-under par 198. The 2024 U.S. Open champion will be eager to get back to winning ways in LIV Golf. That makes him as big of a threat as any as fans know what Bryson DeChambeau is capable of when he is focused on winning.
