The 2025 JM Eagle LA Championship will once again be back in action from April 17, however, it will not be played on the same course as last year. This year, for the first time ever, the LPGA event will be hosted by El Caballero Country Club as the tournament’s regular home, Wilshire Country Club, undergoes major construction. All 144 players field will be vying for the biggest purse outside any LPGA major, $3.75 million. And its defending champion, Hannah Green, has only one wish ahead of the event, “I hope that I can make as many birdies as possible.” With Green promising us that much, the fans can barely control their excitement. Here are the five golfers to watch out for in the 2025 JM Eagle LA Championship!
Hannah Green
Hannah Green‘s first win in four years came at the JM Eagle LA Championship in 2023 after a three-person playoff between Aditi Ashok, Xiyu Lin, and her, and she successfully defended her title against Swedish golfer Maja Stark at the 2024 JM Eagle LA Championship. The 28-year-old golfer’s scores during the four-day event were just as beautiful, with her shooting 67-69-70-66 in all her rounds. Her season so far has been moderate in the four events she played, with her best coming at the 2025 Founders Cup with a finish of T4.

The two-time defending champion will be competing for a three-peat at a new venue at El Caballero Country Club. If successful, Green will be the first Australian to achieve this feat in the same LPGA Tour event since Karrie Webb won the Australian Ladies Masters from 1998-2000 (three times in a row!). Undoubtedly, a lot’s at stake for Hannah Green.
Nelly Korda
The World No.1 Nelly Korda has shared a pretty impressive history with the JM Eagle LA Championship, even though she participated in only one of them. At the 2023 JM Eagle LA Championship, Korda finished T6 behind the champion Hannah Green and the runner-up Xiyu Lin and Aditi Ashok, among others. She had a beautiful run of scores with 69-71-70-67 in her four rounds. Korda participated in the LPGA event the following year, however, she withdrew from the event due to exhaustion, as updated through her social media.

This year, Nelly Korda will be headlining the 2025 JM Eagle LA Championship along with Jin Young Ko, among others. Although Korda’s 2025 season hasn’t been that impressive, she played in three events and delivered her first at the 2025 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions (2). She last participated in the T-Mobile Match Play championship but failed to qualify for the round of 16. Despite her moderate form, Nelly Korda is still a safe bet.

Jeeno Thitikul
The World No. 2 on the Women’s Golf Rolex Ranking Jeeno Thitikul made her first start with the 2023 JM Eagle LA Championship and didn’t participate in the following year. In the first year, the 22-year-old performed moderately and finished T33 with scores of 70-73-68-73. Despite not being very familiar with the LPGA event, part of Thitikul’s charm comes thanks to her 2025 season.
Jeeno Thitikul has had an impressive start to the season, achieving four top-five finishes on the LPGA Tour, including her best coming at the 2025 HSBC Women’s World Championship with a finish of T2. There, the Thai golfer finished her rounds with beautiful scores of 71-72-66-70. Earlier this year, Thitikul participated in the 2025 Honda LPGA Thailand and finished 3 with four strong rounds with finishes 68-64-69-66. She last competed at the 2025 T-Mobile Match Play and had a fifth-place finish. Undoubtedly, she will be looking to fix her history with the LPGA event.
Jin Young Ko
The World No. 13 on the Women’s Golf Rolex Ranking didn’t have a great start at the first JM Eagle LA Championship, given her poor finish of T44 at the 2023 LPGA event. However, Jin Young Ko seemed to have redeemed her 2023 scores of 72-68-75-70 in the following year. At the 2024 JM Eagle LA Championship, Jin Young Ko made finishes of 72-68-72-67 in all four rounds and finished T4 behind the champion Hannah Green and the runner-up Maja Stark.
So far, in the 2025 season, Jin Young Ko participated in 6 LPGA events and finished her best at the Founders Cup (2) with a beautiful run of scores of 67-63-66-71.

Ayaka Furue
Ayaka Furue‘s history with the JM Eagle LA Championship has been pretty impressive. Furue first participated at the 2023 JM Eagle LA Championship and finished inside the top 5 with a finish of T4 and scores of 69-70-72-65. She followed it well enough at the 2024 JM Eagle LA Championship with a finish of T25. Although the 2024 finish was moderate, the golfer has been doing pretty well this season.
In the 2025 season, the Japanese golfer has done amazingly well with her best finish coming in the 2025 HSBC Women’s World Championship (T2). She followed her pretty impressive scores of 71-69-71-68 at the Sentosa Golf Club with another beautiful set of scores at Blue Bay LPGA (3). Ayaka Furue last played at the 2025 T-Mobile Match Play and finished at T35. However, she is still definitely a strong player to watch out for!
