The 2025 Hoag Classic has brought the legends of the game back to Newport Beach Country Club from March 21 to 23. This premier stop on the PGA TOUR Champions circuit is seeing 78 seasoned pros battling it out over 54 holes in a no-cut, stroke-play format. This year, the tournament is extra special.

“This is the first time in tournament history that the top 36 PGA TOUR Champions players will be competing at the Hoag Classic. It’s shaping up to be one of our most competitive and exciting events yet,” said Scott Easton, executive director of the Hoag Classic. “This year’s field highlights the incredible talent and legacy of these players, and we’re honored to include in those ranks so many of our past champions returning to Newport Beach Country Club. And while the competition will be intense, it is incredibly rewarding to continue hosting an event that combines world-class golf with meaningful charitable and community impact.”

Padraig Harrington is back here for the third consecutive year, and probably to become the first-ever golfer to successfully defend his Hoag Classic title. He took home the win last year, and this time, he is facing a star-studded lineup, including Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Vijay Singh, Fred Couples, Bernhard Langer, and Colin Montgomerie. On top of that, 34 of the top 36 from last year’s Charles Schwab Cup standings will be teeing off, led by reigning champion Steven Alker.
