The ongoing inaugural Hainan Classic at the Blackstone Course serves as the final stop on the DP World Tour’s Asian Swing. This marks the Tour’s landmark 50th visit to China, following the recent 30th edition of the Volvo China Open. The Hainan Classic marks the eighth different tournament hosted in China, further solidifying the Tour’s presence in the region. Currently, officials have suspended the second round due to stormy weather, but one of the reasons this event at the Blackstone Course is so special is the perks it offers!
In addition to the first Hainan Classic title, the winner will receive an impressive bonus of $200,000 for finishing at the top of the rankings. Furthermore, the event’s champion will gain access to all the lucrative Back 9 events of the season, providing additional opportunities for success and earnings in the 2025 season. Currently, Japanese golfer Keita Nakajima is leading the standings, thanks to his runner-up finishes at the Porsche Singapore Classic and the Hero Indian Open.
The Blackstone Course event will offer its winner $433,500 out of a total $2.55M purse. The runner-up will take home $280,500, the same as last year. However, the $2.55M event will also offer a respectable $5,100 to its second-to-last finisher, with the last finisher (70) taking home $4,845. Here’s a complete breakdown of the purse at the 2025 Hainan Classic:

However, the final Asian stop on the DP World Tour will provide even more opportunities for the golfers. For instance, the top three players will gain entry into one of the four majors, the PGA Championship, with Eugenio Chacarra and Ashun Wu currently in second and third place in the standings, respectively. Additionally, golfers can earn OWGR points, along with 3,500 Race to Dubai ranking points and 1,000 Ryder Cup ranking points for eligible European players. With so much at stake, here are some of the golfers showcasing their strongest gameplay at the Blackstone Course.
How does the second round of the 2025 Hainan Classic look so far?
Currently suspended due to darkness, round two will resume on Saturday, according to a recent DP World Tour update. However, the Blackstone Course has seen plenty of action on its greens so far. Speaking during the second round at the Hainan Classic, Sean Crocker said, “I am just working on the mental side of my game. It’s what has let me down.” Thankfully, for the 28-year-old American golfer, his performance in China has proven to be a tough competition for his fellow golfers. With six birdies in round one and five birdies in round two, Crocker stands atop the leaderboard with a score of 9-under.

However, Paraguayan pro Fabrizio Zanotti is closely following the younger golfer with a score of 7-under, thanks to his nine overall birdies in the first two rounds. Daniel Hillier, Martin Couvra, and Jack Senior are the other three golfers among the top five during the suspended second round. The winner of the Volvo China Open, Ashun Wu, is currently tied for 48th place with a score of 1-under. He will be looking to win another title in the 2025 season in his home country.
