Did you know Patrick Cantlay has the lowest score record at the Astara Golf Championship? One year after turning professional, he recorded a 266 score after 72 holes in 2013, which is still the record. The 2025 schedule will host the 15th edition of the Astara Golf Championship, presented by Mastercard, featuring the top names of the Korn Ferry Tour.
The fourth event of the Korn Ferry schedule is all set to tee off at the same venue, i.e., the historic Country Club de Bogotá-Lagos in Bogotá, Colombia. The record-setting last year with Cristobal Del Solar’s 57 in the opening round and Aldrich Potgieeter’s 59 in the second has set the hopes high for the event. While not just the competition, there are a lot of things at stake for the golfers.
A total of 156 players are featured at the event. The standard payout of 18% from the $1M purse will go to the winner, along with 500 Korn Ferry Points and a step closer to the PGA Tour card. Along with that, the OWGR points are also at stake for the golfers. The winner will get a boost of 14.2 official World Golf Ranking points.

The close first round offers no surety, as anything can happen in the following rounds. However, Jaramillo being an amateur and getting in the second position is a great feat; it will be interesting to see how he will continue to shine in the coming rounds. Last year, Kevin Velo won at 22 under par and gained the PGA Tour card for the 2025 season. Who will it be this year? What are your predictions for this season? Let us know in the comments below.
