Will Justin Thomas dominate the ZOZO Championship, or will Max Homa steal the spotlight?

Get ready golf fans because the most awaited PGA Tour event is heading east this week! After a thrilling stop in Las Vegas, the world’s top golfers are bound for Japan and are ready for another battle. The coveted ZOZO Championship will be teeing off on October 24th at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club in Chiba, Japan. This exclusive event will feature the tour’s top 78 players, all working extra hard to win the title in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The event even though new, has left quite a mark in the golf world which many fans might not know about. Well, since its inception in 2019, the ZOZO Championship has called the historic Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club as its home, which was established in 1965. This iconic course has a rich tournament history which includes the 1968 Japan PGA Championship and this year’s event is also set to make history. The tournament features some of the top players in the world, like Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and Hideki Matsuyama.

However, the only question on everyone’s mind is if Justin Thomas will be in the field. Well, yes! Thomas who is currently holding the 31st on the OWGR ranking, is set to showcase his skill to take home the coveted title, per Zozo Championship.com. And after looking at his overall 2024 performances, the chances of that happening are pretty high. The golfer has had not one but 5 top-10 performances which included his T8 finish at the PGA Championship where he made a brilliant score of 8 under par.

“I’m so back, baby! God, there’s nothing. Thank you, God! Nothing in the world that feels better than that,” Homa exclaimed after sinking an incredible chip shot. Thomas couldn’t help but poke fun at his friend’s inconsistent shooting and joking that it either “went in or didn’t even come close.” The two will join forces with other golfing greats which includes Rickie Fowler and Hideki Matsuyama when the tournament kicks off this week.
