The highly anticipated 2024 World Wide Technology Championship is set to run from November 7-10, bringing us one step closer to the season’s finish. With a whopping purse of $7.2 million, this event will see 144 players tee off, featuring golfers like Taylor Moore, Cameron Young, Erik van Rooyen, Max Greyserman, and others. But where’s all the action going down? Well, the 2024 WWT Championship is taking place at the El Cardonal Golf Course in Diamante, designed by none other than Tiger Woods.
In designing El Cardonal, Woods has skillfully woven Diamante’s rolling hills and jaw-dropping views into a truly unique course. The bunkers maintain a traditional look, while the wide fairways follow natural, irregular contours. “El Cardonal is going to remind people of the old-style California courses,” Woods said.
And when the course is designed by the GOAT himself, you know it’s going to be exciting. He created this space with both players and fans in mind, mixing challenges with a touch of comfort. Let’s take a closer look at the greens of El Cardonal.

Hole-by-hole breakdown at the 2024 WWT Championship
El Cardonal isn’t just another scenic golf course, as it’s a complete package of strategic twists and challenges that keep both players and viewers on their toes, as per its official website. Starting with Hole 1, a par 5 that greets you with a downhill adventure through dunes and breathtaking Pacific views, golfers face their first big choice: risk carrying the left bunker for a shorter shot to the green or play it safe on the right and take the longer route.
By Hole 2, the par 3 tests precision with its spacious green surrounded by dunes and a tricky bunker that looks closer than it is. And Hole 3? A tempting par 4 that dares long hitters to go for the green, while safer options offer easier second shots. As golfers move to the longer par 4s like Holes 4 and 7, players are introduced to a new challenge of prevailing winds that makes it a necessity to aim for well-protected, elevated greens that reward precise shots and smart recovery play.
Then comes the Hole 6, a thrilling 601-yard par-5 with a quirky “M”-shaped green and central bunker. To avoid trouble, golfers need to choose the right angle and set up a good approach, depending on where the pin is placed. Holes 10 and 12 shake things up with options: go for the green on the short par 4 of Hole 10 or lay up smartly to handle the challenges of Hole 12’s approach, where wind can play tricks. Meanwhile, Hole 15, an uphill par 4, wraps up for the long shot game challenges with its wide landing areas and unique green, making smart placement key.
While the aforementioned holes can be tricky, the remaining ones are not easy by any means.

As golfers approach Hole 16, the shortest par 3 on the course at 154 yards, the excitement builds. This hole requires an “all or nothing” tee shot to a green tucked between two arroyo canyons. With three levels on the green, hitting the pin with a short iron takes precision—there’s no room for mistakes!
Next up is Hole 17, a 462-yard par 4. It is located on the highest point of the course, the tee shot offers a panoramic view of Diamante and the Pacific Ocean. Here, the landing area splits into two sides, giving players a choice. The elevated right side offers a better angle for the approach, but watch out for the tricky crosswinds!
Finally, Hole 18, a thrilling 537-yard par 5, drops over 60 feet from tee to green, encouraging longer hitters to carry the cross bunkers for a chance to get closer. However, with deep areas and a left-side bunker guarding the narrow green, scores can vary significantly.
